SCHOLARSHIPS

The COMTO North Texas Scholarship Program with a 501 (c) 3 status supports our strategic goal of ensuring the continuing legacy of leaders in transportation. Our primary goal is to award scholarships to worthy students for the pursuit of higher education who are pursuing various careers in the transportation industry, and the scholarship awardees are represented in many academic backgrounds.

Message from 2026 scholarship recipient:

To the COMTO North Texas Scholarship Committee,
As we move into the new year, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you again for awarding me COMTO North Texas scholarship. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in my first year of college, and I am truly grateful for the support.

I would like to share a quick update on how things are going. I recently finished my first semester at UT Arlington and am on track to finish with a 3.4 GPA. I completed my introductory Urban Design course where I completed two case studies on transportation in the California Bay Area and here in North Texas. In addition, this semester, I joined Freshman Leaders on Campus (FLOC), which has given me the opportunity to gain leadership experience while also completing volunteer hours. It has been a rewarding way to get involved and give back while growing personally and professionally.

Thank you again for helping make my college journey possible. Your generosity does not go unnoticed and unappreciated. I am eager to continue working hard and thriving in the semesters ahead.

    Jackson Carter is a 2020 Graduate from JJ Pierce High School in Richardson, Texas. He will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall. Both of his parents attended Texas A&M University and his brother is a sophomore there. Jackson will be studying Business Administration and Finance.

  • $1,500 Scholarship Recipient

    Maya Havens is a 2020 Graduate from Central High School in Keller, Texas. Migrating to America from Russia, her family vacation to the Galveston Island Pier awakened her passion for space, flight, and engineering. She will be attending Purdue University to pursue becoming an Aerospace Engineer.

    Kiara Fletcher is a 2020 Graduate from L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. Kiara is interested in a career in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering. She is passionate about taking on the challenge of the STEM Field and making her mark. She will be attending North Carolina A&T State University in the fall.

    Fernando Castaneda is a 2020 Graduate from John A. Dubiski Career High School in Grand Prairie, Texas. He is interested in becoming an Architect where he will design airports and low-income housing. Fernando will be attending the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue his goal.

    Ebony Moss is a 2020 Graduate from DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas. Ebony will be attending Prairie View A&M University to pursue a career in Business Administration. Ebony is excited to achieve her goal so she can give back and make a difference by being productive professionally and helping in the community where she will live.
