President’s Message
October 2026
Cibia Jones
President, COMTO North Texas
-
As we welcome the month of October, COMTO North Texas recognizes several important observances that align with our mission of advancing opportunities, developing leaders, and strengthening the transportation industry for the communities we serve. COMTO's mission is to ensure transportation serves all through leadership development, partnerships, advocacy, and workforce advancement.
October highlights the critical role transportation plays in connecting people to employment, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. As we celebrate transportation professionals, infrastructure leaders, small businesses, and innovators, we remain committed to building a strong workforce pipeline and supporting the next generation of transportation leaders.
This month is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, support those currently fighting the disease, and remember loved ones who have been affected. In addition, we recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which reminds us of the importance of fostering safe, supportive, and empowered communities. Transportation plays a vital role in helping individuals access critical services, employment opportunities, healthcare, and support systems.
As we close out Hispanic Heritage Month, I invite you to join us for our Coffee & Conversation event on October 15, 2026. We are excited to welcome Rebecca Lopez as our moderator and Rosa Navajar, CEO of The Rios Group, as our keynote speaker. This promises to be an engaging discussion celebrating leadership, professional growth, and the contributions of Hispanic leaders within our communities and industries. We look forward to seeing everyone come out and participate. Please be on the lookout for our event flyer with additional details.
As President of COMTO North Texas, I encourage each of you to continue investing in your professional growth, supporting one another, and strengthening the partnerships that move our industry forward. Together, we are building a transportation community that is innovative, connected, and reflective of the people we serve.
Thank you for your continued commitment to COMTO North Texas and for helping us move transportation forward through service, leadership, and collaboration.
